Hmm, perhaps it's a good excuse to pimp up my morning porridge.

We recently started having https://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=271757922&sc_cmp=ppc*GHS+-+Grocery+-+New*PX+%7C+Shopping+GSC+%7C+All+Products+%2B+Tesco+Brand*PRODUCT+GROUP271757922*&gclid=CMv4z_LgsNMCFQu3Gwod4EMM5Q&gclsrc=aw.ds these porridge oats for breakfast each day, because we like routine, plus these make the best porridge I've had. I start 24 hours in advance, weigh out approx 40g per serving into a 2 litre pyrex bowl, sprinkle on some ground cinnamon to taste, then add 3 parts whole milk to 1 part cold water and stir it all up, put it in the fridge for the day and get it out in the morning so it gets a bit more to room temperature. We microwave it for about 5-6 minutes, stir it and microwave it again for another 5-6 minutes (you could heat it through in a big saucepan on the hob). Pre-soaking the oats breaks down the phytic acid that is in them, which is a constituent part of all grains which inhibits your ability to absorb all the micronutrients from them. It also makes for slightly quicker cooking time. Once dished up, we have it with sliced banananananana on top. Om nom nom.

It is, and really sets you up for the day. I'm going to try adding a bit of dried ginger along with the cinnamon tomorrow. It's good for inflammation.

Sorry I didn't get round to doing last week's challenge in the end. I'll see how I get on with this one!
