For me, all chorizo is cooking chorizo; I really don't like the texture of it when not-cooked, and tbh I'm not that keen on it cooked. I tend to like German sausage* better thank Spanish (you can tell all your friends I said that if you like ;)). However, James loves it and has some in the fridge. I might try your idea on him.
* at least the sort of German sausage you can get in the uk. I am aware that this is by no means the full range. I am also aware that this doesn't make the innuendo any better...
