Ahem. FEAR ME, PITIFUL HUMANS. This week's challenj is BERRIES. It was proposed by the marvellous donutsweeper, to whom all complaints must be directed. It's the perfect time for such a challenj. Summer is ending and autumn is just barely beginning, and the fruits lie heavy and ripening deliciously on the vine. I'm told that they are also available in our many supermarkets. Berries! They're what's good for you.

Submit to me your recipes for something to do with BERRIES or suffer the consequences, fools.

Would you count cherries as berries for this challenj?

I'll allow it if it's a recipe into which berries could be conceivably substituted. Cherries and berries really aren't the same thing, botanically speaking, but it's totally understandable if you've got a good recipe but don't happen to have berries in your larder this week.

Blue & I have just made black forest gateau here, so I'm really tempted to say yes, but technical precision wins.
